Composer Brian Schober writes new work for flute

Driftings is the result of a collaboration between Brian Schober and Laura. A wonderful trio for flute, soprano saxophone and piano, the piece was written for Laura Falzon, flute; James Noyes, saxophone; and Keith Burton, piano. The work was premiered at a MOSA concert on January 27th, 2019.

Brian Schober has pursued an active career as a composer and organist throughout the United States and abroad.  A native of New Jersey, Schober’s teachers included Samuel Adler, Joseph Schwantner, as well as Olivier Messiaen and Betsy Jolas at the Paris Conservatory of Music while studying organ privately with Jean Guillou and André Isoir.

He is the recipient of many prizes and awards including those from BMI, Editions Salabert, the French Cultural Ministry, the National Endowment of the Arts, The American Music Center and twice from the Aaron Copland Fund for Music.
